Just a JTHL Progress Report

So it has been about two weeks since I started my journey. I have decided I will do weigh-ins every two weeks so that I do not feel so intimidated by the scale. So far I have lost 7 lbs. My current goal is to loose 10 lbs by Dec. 21.
Here are a few things that I have discovered that have helped me to stay on track:
- If you have "My Yahoo" which is your personalized homepage there are great tools that you can add to your page to help you in your weight-loss plan. If you want more info on this email me and I will help you out.
- When you are reading your news stories online, venture to the health and fitness section and update yourself on news in that area as well. You can always find great topics and articles. If you find some please share!!!
- Do not start out counting calories, no matter how many people tell you to do it. This is an automatic trip to failure. Counting calories is like having a second full-time job. You need to know what foods to cut out and do that. You will be able to loose weight and still eat the foods you love. You will thank me for this tidbit later on.
- Also, to piggy back the last bit of info, MODERATION IS KEY, www.portionpals.com has a great product that will help you to get those portion sizes under control. Eating the right amounts of food as well as eating the right food will allow your body to loss the weight easily and effectively.
- Work out!!! There are two ways that you can start and maintain a workout routine. 1) You can start slow and build up, maybe commit to three or four days out of the week to exercise or 2) Make the whole commitment in the beginning and stick to it. Do six days a week and take a day of rest. Remember to not over do it in the beginning. Start with 30 minutes of cardio three times a week and the other three days, walk...... 3) This is a MUST, on your MP3 player create a workout playlist, if you don't have an MP3 player invest in one, you can get them cheap from lots of places.
- Lastly (for today), remember that you will not see results overnight, in a week, in a month. It takes time for your body to become adjusted to the new routine. Anything new takes 30-90 days to become a routine for you so stick with and and before you know it you wont even realize your doing it!
Keep going and make sure that in anything you do you put GOD first!!!

Back to Basics
Ok, so it is time for the journey back to me. I have decided to simplify my attempt this time by:
- Setting smaller goals
- Measuring my portions
- drinking water
- Developing an exercise plan
My goal: to lose 100lbs.
I read a couple of good article's about healthy living that have motivated me to begin my journey:
So there are a few things that I have to do to start off. I need to locate a gang of people to be my accountability partners. This way I will have people to help me stay on track.
So we will see how it goes.
The journey begins now!!!
